This week at WestM

 Grace and Peace to you!

Homecoming weekend is behind us; the first round of mid-term exams has offered its challenges; the leaves are turning and falling so our Fall Term is pretty well established. As the rains fall and the cold winds blow, remember that there is a warm, dry, welcoming space here at WestM for your time between classes to study, nap, enjoy tea or cocoa, or study. Tomorrow you have an additional opportunity at WestM with our Labyrinth – a great way to balance your mind/body/spirit whole. Let me know how I may be of support as this term progresses. Here is what’s up this week:

Monday, 10/22, 6:30 PM Westminster Council

Student leadership team is meeting to map out some opportunities for the remainder of the term. All students are welcome to add their voice to the process. Meets in the Student Lounge at WestM.

 Tuesday, 10/23 –

– 11 AM to 2 PM – Labyrinth Walk @ WestM Students will be hosting this one and welcome you to come check it out as a great tool for prayer/meditation.

 – 3 PM to 7 PM – Stone Soup Kitchen We are still looking for some volunteers who can help as we prepare and serve this meal to the hungry of the Corvallis community. We definitely need volunteers for the 3-5 PM prep shift and a couple more for the 5-7 PM serving and cleanup shift would be helpful. Respond to this email to let Tim know if you are able to help with either or both of these shifts. You may also reach him on his cell (voice or text): 541.760.2647

 Wednesday, 10/24, 5:30 – 7:30 PM – Student Gathering @ WestM

Join us for a homecooked meal beginning at 5:30. Beginning at 6:30 we will continue our theme, Conversations with Our Interfaith Neighbors, as our friends from the Buddhist Study group that meets at WestM join us to share about their experience and understanding of Buddhism. All are welcome to these conversations and opportunities to learn about those with whom we share.

Friday, 10/24 Progressive Dinner and Pumpkin Carving Party

We will celebrate with our friends from Luther House as we progressively dine between our two campus ministry houses: begin with appetizers at WestM; main course at Luther House; back to WestM for dessert and pumpkin carving. Bring your creativity and friends are welcome!. We ask that you RSVP by noon on Thursday, 10/23, so that we are sure to have enough good food and pumpkins for carving.

Shalom,

Timothy
