What’s ahead at WestM

Grace and Peace to You!

Wednesday, 4/16, 5:30-6:30 PM  Student Gathering Seder (Passover) Meal

Join us for this Holy Week tradition as we share in a “Seder” or passover meal in honor of our Biblical heritage and the Exodus event.  We will actually share a meal including spoken parts as if we were a family celebrating.  Come ready for fun and edification…

Following the meal, you are invited to head down to 1st Presbyterian Church (one of our ministry partners) where Dr. Marcus Borg, retired OSU prof and world-renowned Jesus scholar, will be speaking on The Passion of Jesus.  Many Christians have come to identify the “passion of Jesus” as his suffering and crucifixion.  Dr. Borg will help us to understand that there is so much more to understand about the true “passion of Jesus.”  Begins at 7 PM in the sanctuary of 1st Presbyterian Church on the corner of SW 8th and Monroe Streets.

Monday, 4/21,  6-8 PM  Community Conversations

We’ll be celebrating Earth Week with a focus on Growth/Planting.  Join us for dinner and stimulating conversation.  Jessica is our lead on this one.

Tuesday, 4/22, 3-5 and 5-7 PM  Stone Soup Kitchen

Come share in the spirit of service as we prepare and serve this meal to the hungry of the Corvallis community.  No particular skill is needed, just a heart for serving.  We have two shifts:  3-5 PM to prepare the meal and setup the dining room; 5-7 PM to serve the meal and clean up following.  You can volunteer for either or both.  Just respond to this email to get on Tim’s list for the event.  Thanks!

Friday/Saturday April 25-26 – Annual Spring Beach Retreat

We will depart from WestM around 5 PM Friday afternoon and head over to the Toledo/Newport area (we will be spending the night in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Toledo) and hitting the beach on Saturday.  We return late Saturday afternoon – a 24-hour retreat.  Contact us for details!
