The WestM Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from up to four local churches. Members serve two-year terms.

Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
Sue Schulz is a retired elementary school cook. Sue has been a member of First Christian Church for over 25 years. Many in Corvallis now her simply as “Stone Soup Sue” because of her pivotal work in providing a warm meal to hungry persons in Corvallis. She is known for her wonderful pies. She has two daughters, Lisa Schulz and Amy Berry and four grandchildren. When not helping to serve the hungry, Sue enjoys skiing, fishing and hiking.
Presbyterian Church (USA)
Vicki Tolar Burton is a Professor of Rhetoric and Composition at OSU. She is also the Program Coordinator for Rhetoric, Writing, and Culture and is the WIC (Writing Intensive Curriculum) Director. Vicki is a member of Corvallis First Presbyterian Church. She is well published in Journals, Book (Spiritual Literacy in John Wesley’s Methodism: Reading, Writing, and Speaking to Believe), and Film (Writing Across Borders).
United Church of Christ
Libby Ankarberg is retired from Linus Pauling Middle School Learning Resource Center. She is a member of First Congregational Church Corvallis and is a quilter with the Mary’s River Quilt Guild. She has lived in Seattle, WA , Bellevue, WA and Waldport, OR and HATES to have her picture taken. She is the current Chair of our WestM Board.
Larry Weymouth is a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and has lived in the Corvallis area for more than 40 years since graduating from OSU. His professional experience is as a transportation project manager, environmental planner, sales leader, and technical writer/editor for the consulting engineering firm CH2M HILL (now Jacobs Engineering) for 28 years, and then as a grant and contract officer for OSU’s Research Office for 3 years prior to retirement. His three children are grown and distant. He now has time to enjoy biking, hiking, and gardening as well as church activities and civic engagement for a sustainable future.
United Methodist Church
Janine Salwasser is the Program Lead for Oregon Explorer- Institute for Natural Resources at Oregon State University. Janine is an active member of Corvallis First United Methodist Church. She has also served with the Benton County Natural Areas and Parks Advisory Board, the Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board, California Department of Fish and Game, California Resources Agency, CalFIRE, and NASA Ames Research Center to promote information sharing and collaborative approaches to conservation and resource management at local, state, and regional scales. She is an avid rower and the proud mother of Kaija. She is the current secretary of our WestM Board.
Raymond M. Brooks, Emeritus Professor of Finance, Oregon State University
Ray is a member of First United Methodist Church of Corvallis and serves as the Treasurer of West-M. He taught in the College of Business at Oregon State University for nineteen years and served as the Finance Program Director. Prior to coming to OSU in 1997, he taught at the University of Missouri (1991-1997), worked for Shell Oil Company (1978-1986) and served in the United States Army (1973-1977) as a signal corps officer obtaining the rank of Captain. He is a former Oregon State Swim team member and currently serves as the Immediate Past President and Men’s Swim Team Representative on Varsity OSU (letter winners of Oregon State). Ray is married to Greta Brooks, a retired Corvallis High School mathematics teacher. They have two married sons, Michael Brooks married to Aracely (Villalpando) and Tyler Brooks married to Allyson (Sia). They have two granddaughters Ariana and Mariah.
Hunter Keller, Artist and Undergraduate Student at OSU
Hunter is an artist with a passion for creating art installations that fully engage participants body, mind, and soul. She has been working at WestM to create “prayer stations” that engage people’s spirit in collective community experiences. She is also breathing life into our tearoom times. She is working on her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts
Logan Gianella, Muscian and Undergraduate Student at OSU
Logan is a gifted musician helping lead WestM students in worship. You might find him playing a hymn on the piano, keeping the beat on the drum, or leading carols on his accordian. He is working on a degree in BioHealth Sciences and Music.
